Yet another example of Song for the Mute's unrivaled sensitivity to materials and detailing, in creating both easily wearable and engaging garments. This coat is a sample version of the popular Ooft coat from my favourite season, AW17. Made from one of the most expensive fabrics the brand has ever used, this material was produced in an old fabric mill in Ichinomiya, Japan, and was not seen in the collection. Myriad details include the spotted jacquard fabric (wool?), a huge array of straps and buckles that can be used to adjust the proportions all over the coat, comfortable viscose lining, huge pockets, hood, enormous printed back patch, secret pocket under the patch (!), and much more. Seen worn on a size EU50 with ease, this coat is quite oversized. A spectacular piece that won't be seen again any time soon.
